Community Involvement
Organizations We Serve & Financially Support
If there is one tenant that best describes RK Junior staff, it’s that this team chooses to live life in service to others. This trait goes beyond business hours, beyond client service, and into community service by following the wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his sermons on the power of Beloved Community.
In an interview with a local writer, RK Junior founder Ronnie Kelley, Jr. described his mission by saying, “I wanted RK Junior Development Group to be service oriented. I’m passionate about helping others, and I love my community. So many Nashville folks built me up and supported me while I grew up here, went to school here, got my first job here, and went into business here. Now I want to uplift and support my community. I love my hometown, and I know I can improve it through RK Junior’s advocacy, mentorship, volunteering, and financial support.”
Living this truth in as many ways as possible, RK Junior supports a number of community groups:
Ronnie formed a group called Four Horsemen with three other minority business owners in Nashville to build homes for needy families. The men launched this charitable organization when a local family lost their home in a fire. Ron and his partners stepped in and built a new home for the family, donating their labor and materials to ensure the family had a roof over their heads. The Four Horsemen will continue providing homes to families in need. In the fall of 2022, the Four Horsemen hosted the first annual Namaste Gala to get the word out about their efforts and to draw more support for affordable housing from the broader Nashville community.
RK Junior is also an active participant in the Varnell Foundation’s Legacy Builders, which helps young men in need build strong character and realize their full potential as responsible citizens and community leaders. RK Junior also donates to and volunteers with Franktown Open Hearts, a program tasked with helping urban youth in the Franklin community receive the resources they need to lead better lives.
RK Junior is involved with the Andrew Jackson Police Camp for at-risk youths and Blessed Revelations for at-risk single mothers with children who need housing. RK Junior also donates to Warner Elementary School and several local churches.
A firm believer in the power of team sports to foster leadership skills and teamwork, Ronnie directed RK Junior Development Group to also support numerous Nashville Area youth football teams and youth AAU basketball teams by donating sporting equipment to teams in low-income communities.
