John Costonis is a project manager for RK Junior Development Group. Drawing on a lifetime spent in construction, John takes a hands-on approach to ensuring every client’s home is built to last. A problem solver at heart and committed to the job, John oversees every step of the build process, from initial permitting to handing the keys to the homeowner.

A Background in Project Management

Having grown up in a large family where all his uncles designed and built homes, John can speak to over four decades of life experience on job sites. From spending his summers as a young man apprenticing in each trade to his adult years as an estimator, foreman, material acquisitions specialist, operations lead, and project manager, John has had his hands in construction since he joined the workforce. “Working with my uncles helped me develop a deep appreciation for homebuilding,” said John. “And my father, he taught me to love and respect quality architecture and design.”

Overseeing Homebuilding from Conception to Completion

“A project manager is someone who has to be able to do everything, all the time, all at once,” John said when asked to define his role with RK Junior. John is responsible for arranging material deliveries, scheduling subcontractors, monitoring budgets, and coordinating with clients daily to ensure their needs are met. Most importantly, John monitors each trade’s level of quality and craftsmanship to ensure RK Junior’s homes are aesthetically superior, functionally sound, and built to exceed code expectations, thus providing decades of use.

RK Junior’s clients benefit immensely from working with John. A true professional and someone who never really “clocks out,” John commits himself to keeping his client’s projects fully scheduled and running smoothly, not just from one day to the next, but John is uniquely able to know what is occurring on each build at least two weeks into the future. John’s commitment to quality construction done on time and within budget has led him to obtain over 20 credentials in the building industry since he became a project manager in 1998. He is also a member of several continuing education programs for Tennessee builders, and he’s been invited to train up-and-coming builders at numerous seminars and workshops. John is also empathetic and understanding, critical personality traits in a field where clients are making one of the biggest investments they’ll ever make.
